Mount Burrumboot Estate Winery Cellar Door is set in the middle of our family farm, and surrounded by gardens and the original trees surrounding the old Lake Cooper Post Office in bygone days. You know you are in the country here - all around you are paddocks of crops, sheep and cattle grazing, cockatoos, corellas, kookaburras, grass parrots and budgerigars swooping amongst the trees and calling out. But don't be misled by the rural simplicity of it all - our wines are international quality, with great character and finesse, and you usually have the winemakers, Cathy and Andrew Branson, to discuss the wines with.
One of the great joys in life is the combination of great food and wine.
Groups are welcome to book in for lunches at the cellar door, which can be
enjoyed on the verandah overlooking the garden and Lake Cooper, or amongst
the barrels in the winery if the weather is not conducive to outside eating.
We serve beautiful meals, the menus being chosen and prepared by the
winemaker herself, based on what is seasonally available in our own home
garden and larder, and what dishes best suit the weather, and of course, the
wines. This is the essence of good eating - fantastic food, enjoyed in the
place it grows, with good company, simple and uncomplicated surroundings,
and fantastic wines. We can happily accommodate up to 30 guests, but make
sure to book first.
Our cellar door is open for tastings and sales every weekend and public holidays (except Christmas) from 11-5pm , and weekdays by appointment. We look forward to seeing you!
